AID Kolkata organised a science workshop for the kids of Dakshin Durgapur Boys' Home, in association
with members of some other organisations as well, conducted by Breakthrough Science Society. It was a huge hit.

Tragedy at Nandigram
The recent massacre at Nandigram has shocked us. We all have many questions regarding what it was that led to such a bloodbath -- we have questions on the many notions of 'development'. Singur lies just outside Kolkata, in West Bengal. A controversy has been raging there for quite some time
Singur farmers
regarding the acquisition of agricultural land for the construction of an automobile factory. Many farmers have protested in whatever way they can against the loss of fertile land. Social activists including Medha Patkar and political parties also have joined the struggle of the farmers who will soon be displaced.
